It’s Like If a Chiropractor and a Masseuse Had a Baby

That’s how I would describe my first Rolfing session.

Exactly like if a chiropractor and a masseuse had a baby.

A baby who works really really slowly.

I honestly had no idea what to expect. I was completely unsure of what exactly Rolfing entailed going into it, but I liked it. The methods were slow moving, but deep tissue focused. Which I need. My muscles tend to be so bunched up that if the person working on me isn’t willing to dig in deep, they won’t accomplish much.

After my first session, I definitely think I want to give it a few more tries to see what we can accomplish. I would love to see this, combined with Pilates, really start to make a difference in my posture and overall back discomfort. Looking at pictures now, I can really see how much I lean forward. I don't know how (or why) I never noticed it before, but I would really love to see myself starting to sit and stand up a little more straight.

As for McDreamy? He’s still dreamy. And definitely off limits. Wife. 3 year old. And a baby on the way.

So not even kind of potential dating material, but hey – he’ll be working on my body for the next however many weeks, and today he massaged my butt, so… bonus.

Seriously, it’s possible I got all kinds of uncomfortable when he started working on my glutes. I know it needs to be done, and I actually have a fair amount of residual pain in my hips from the last few years anyway, but… A good looking guy massaging my butt?

Let’s just say that’s the most action I’ve seen in… a while.

As for the other update I owe you all – I promise, it’s coming. I just haven’t been in the right frame of mind to sit down and write a whole recap yet, and now I’ve got dinner plans I must run out to.

Soon though. Hopefully tomorrow night. Or maybe Wednesday. Possibly Thursday.

Either way, it’s coming. Just have patience dear friends! The birthday story is a good one to tell (and anyway, I have a very real dilemma to ask you all about pertaining to the man in the last shot), I’m just still trying to pull all the details out of my very fuzzy memories of the night myself.

Soon…

In the meantime – I hope everyone has had a fabulous day. It’s my birthday you know, so I hope you did something special to celebrate!
