Vagina Clearance

I had my 4 week follow up phone consult this afternoon.

I'm proud to report that I have been given permission to return to “normal activities”.

That’s right ladies and gentlemen; I have full vagina clearance.

I can use my lady bits again.

Not sure what I want to use them for, but at least I know I can!

Everything else seems like it’s progressing along normally. I really am out of physical pain pretty much entirely. I’m still feeling a little bruisy beneath my belly button, and my left incision stings from time to time, but for the most part – everything feels like it's healing up nicely.

I was warned that my next period likely won’t be the walk in the park I’ve been hoping it would be. I guess with everything still healing up, it could be a bit of a doozy. I’m glad they said something though, because I think I would have been highly disappointed if it started and I was in pain. At least now I know to expect it. And I am actually expecting it any day now, so we’ll see how that goes.

I also officially have permission to start up an exercise routine. They told me to take it slow and pay attention to my body, but starting next Monday – palates boot camp is on!

Now, before anyone starts to panic and scold me – the boot camp is actually specifically for beginners. So the first week will likely be taking things pretty slow anyway. Or at least, I hope that will be the case. Either way, if it turns out to be too much, I’ll slow myself down. But right now? I'm pretty sure I need some physical activity in a big bad way, if only for my mental stability!

The best part of today’s follow up though? Dr. Cook’s office wound up sending me the referral for cootchie PT as soon as I hung up the phone (I’ll need to bring it with me to my appointment next week for insurance purposes). Right there on the form were the words “Patient needs pelvic floor release.” I looked at it for about 30 seconds, and then I busted out laughing.

I’m pretty sure I have a prescription for an orgasm.

Never in my life did I ever think the day would come when that would happen.

But now that it has, I am beyond amused.

So here we are, a month out from surgery, and it would appear that everything is getting back to normal. I’m healthy, functioning, and allowed to use my vagina again.

You know, should the opportunity arise.

All is right in the world.

Plus, I have a prescription in my purse that I'm pretty sure I should frame.

Because it's just not very often that you get full vagina clearance and a prescription for a "pelvic floor release" on the same day.

Might as well memorialize it.
