And yes, that is a victory worthy of celebrating. I'm ashamed to admit that I was starting to get pretty darn skunky.
Granted, I couldn't do a gosh darn thing with my hair once I got out of the shower, and thus it has been left piled up wet on top of my head in a bun, but... One step at a time here ladies and gentlemen.
I'm still failing at eating more than a few bites of anything in one sitting, sleeping for more than a few hours at one time, walking more than a few feet without needing a break, and getting out of bed without wincing in pain, but hey... it's all about the small victories in life.
And this morning, I took a shower. Which is one step further on the road to recovery than I was yesterday or the day before. So, I'm going to celebrate that fact here.
Right along with my new and improved fresh and clean smell. As well as the absence of grease from my hair.
It's the little things friends... all about the little things.
I've got myself weaned down to one pain pill every 6 hours now, and am on my way to my follow up with Dr. Cook. If everything checks out OK with him, I think I'm going to try to fly home tomorrow and be off pain killers by Sunday.
Slowly but surely, I'm working on getting back to "normal".
Hopefully by Monday, I'll be able to convince myself to not only shower, but to also do my hair.
One step at a time...
