Seriously, I just cannot say enough nice things about him.
And I want to tell you all about it, because there is so much to tell. But… I need a nap first.
Yep. That’s right. I haven’t even had this surgery yet, and I am already taking advantage of midday sleeping. I will not feel bad about this though. The sun is out and the weather is warm and it’s possible (just possible) that I may have been going a million miles a minute since 7 this morning trying to soak it all in, and now… I’m pooped.
It started with the appointment this morning, and then I ran around trying to fill prescriptions and get things in order, followed by spending some time just driving around town and getting myself acclimated while marveling at all the sunshine. After all of that, I got to have lunch with this lovely lady and we had a blast. Elle was brave enough to meet up with me at my hotel and embark upon the half hour drive to Sonic, which kind of makes her one of my favorite people right now.

Before setting out on our adventure, I set up the Garmin I rented (the one I was so very excited about because I had never actually used one before) and realized quickly that the navigation system wasn’t as cool when someone else is in the car with you. Last night Garmin and I were having a blast. Talking to each other and getting along marvelously. Today however, she just kept interrupting the conversation Elle and I were having. It was actually quite rude.
But, we got there safe and sound and all in one piece – which is really all that matters. I then indulged in 2 grilled cheese sandwiches (OK, 3 if you count the extra one they brought us – but I promise I haven’t eaten that one yet!) and a strawberry limeade. And yes – it was totally worth the trek it took to get there.
Now though – I’m fed and sunned and completely and totally exhausted.
And, I’m in a hotel with no real responsibilities or things I have to do, so guess what? I’m going to take a nap.
A nap that I am not going to feel bad about.
I’ll update you on all the Dr. Cook news when I wake up.
It will be worth the wait – I promise.
