There was a little bit of excitement yesterday.
Excitement that may or may not have distracted me from some of the other exciting things I should have been sharing as well.
But hey, give me a break – I haven’t had a date with a guy I’m actually interested in... in a while!
What else could possibly be going on though?
Well for starters – my dentist is squeezing me in. In light of my discomfort surrounding doing dental work during a pregnancy (a pregnancy which still may or may not happen, but is possible none-the-less) my dentist has found a time to take care of that whole crown issue for me. Good for my teeth, not so good for my wallet. Sneaking in just under the wire though, I will be getting a temporary crown next Tuesday morning – just 24 hours before I leave for Seattle.
Because if you’re paying attention ladies and gentlemen – it is a week from today in fact that those two ice babies of mine are going to be placed happy and snuggly inside my uterus, where they will hopefully choose to remain for the next 9 months.
And that (in and of itself) is pretty exciting.
Also included in this mish mash of a post this lovely Thursday morning – I have a new article up at a Fertility Authority if you’re interested in checking that out. It’s called Going It Alone, and highlights the pros and cons of pursuing fertility treatments on your own.
And while we’re on the subject of infertility, the weekly Live Infertility Chat will be held this Sunday as usual. We have two girls coming to the end of their two-week-waits right now, so hopefully they will have some happy news to share. No matter where you are on your infertility journey though, we would love for you to join us. It’s a place to talk, ask questions, and commiserate with women who truly understand what you’re going through and where you’ve been. All you have to do is show up at the community at 3pm Alaska time on Sunday and look for the Live Chat in progress. We would love to meet you!
If you’d like to catch up on the last few sessions before joining in, you can do so here:

And now, for the part I think most of you were waiting for; my new countertop reveal.
What do you think? Quite an improvement from what was there before, right? I seriously can’t believe they’re only laminate! Who knew laminate could look so good?
It is becoming painfully clear to me that I really do need to do something about those cabinets now too though. They just… clash.
The good news is; I have a date with a contractor tonight.
Maybe if I’m lucky, I can get him to stick around for a little while. Lend a hand with the never ending remodel that is this home of mine.
And maybe help me put together a crib or two in just a few short months as well!
