A Good Day

If I was working on not getting overexcited the last few days (so as not to disturb those ice babies of mine too badly with some serious hormonal fluctuations) I'm pretty sure I failed tremendously today.

In a million different ways.

Every single one of them good.

Because today has been a good day, and I’m thinking it might just keep getting better.

A couple of exciting things happened that I don’t want to touch on too much here, mostly because they have to do with work (and a position opening up that I am definitely coveting); but the thing I can hit on here is pretty huge.

As in, Kristen Bell huge.

That’s right lovely readers. The wrap party for the movie that’s filming here is tonight, and guess who got her invite this afternoon?

This girl!

I’ve been behaving like a giddy 12 year old ever since.

Fretting over what to wear and wondering if I’ll be able to get a picture with her, or if that might make me seem a little too stalker fan-ish?

I even contemplated not wearing my nice boots, because hey – I don’t want to be towering above K Bell! I’ve got like 5 inches on her as it is!

Not that I know these things or anything.

I was looking for distractions though friends, and today has been the best distraction ever.

The moral of the story?

Refuse to obsessively pee on sticks, and you will be rewarded by spending your day thinking about promotions, celebrities, and boys instead of whether or not you’re knocked up.

What’s this about boys you ask?

Well Mr. Fix-It is of course going to be in attendance as well tonight.

The first time we’ll be hanging out since the big baby reveal.

I may be just as excited to see him as I am to finally meet Veronica Mars.

OK, that’s a lie. Kristen Bell definitely wins. Hands down.

But I’m still excited to see him too!

And now, I must leave you all hanging and return to my closet so that I can figure out what to wear.

Because while I still own plenty of cute outfits for sunny San Diego weather, I’m pretty sure none of them are going to cut it here.

It is, after all, almost in the single digits out there.

And it’s possible that I spend most my days about as far away from dressed up as possible.

But tonight? Tonight is calling for the sudden need to class it up.

After all; I can’t have my new BFF thinking I’m a total slob!
