I never did get my embryo grades. I know for some clinics it's common practice to share this information with patients, but I don't think my clinic makes too big a deal out of it.
After reading so many infertility blogs though, I've seen plenty of other women receive the grading on their embryos and the truth is... I wanted to mine too! I wanted to know how those little ice babies I already love were stacking up.
So, I e-mailed Dr. RE a few weeks ago asking for the grades of my embryo's, and this is the response I got yesterday:
"Both are hatching blastocysts. One is quality AC and the other BC. The first letter is the inner cell mass (baby, and most important), and the second letter is for the placental cells. Both are considered very good quality—the AC is the best, of course."
What do you think? For those of you who know anything about any of this, what does it mean?
I have to be honest, seeing those two C's made my heart sink. I've always been an A student. I'm not sure I've never gotten a C in my life (OK, there was that one Physics class, but.... that teacher was mean!) What do those grades really equate to?
If anyone's had embryos stick with similar grading, now would be the time to speak up!
Because as per usual; I'm over thinking it all....
