A Brief (And Disturbing) Story

I broke my toe last night.

And it hurt.

Bad enough, that after I finished cursing like a sailor; I tweeted about it.

Moments later, a guy tweeted me back claiming to be a podiatrist and asking for a photo.

So I sent it to him, thinking “Why not?!?” Of course, it’s not like this is my first broken toe. I am a giant klutz, and I know how to deal with this because I've done it a million times before.

OK, on second thought; I have no idea why I showed this man a picture of my foot. I knew that he couldn’t give me any advice I didn’t already know. I think I was just excited that someone was acknowledging my pain.

A few tweets go back and forth, and he even compliments my feet (which are, admittedly, hideous. I should have known then that something was up.) Then finally, he lets me know that he truly wishes he could treat me and my poor feet and he compels me to send him more pictures as the healing process takes place because he wants to make sure he sees them.

And suddenly a red flag goes off.

After all, the man had not been following me until I had tweeted about my toe. Which means that he was literally searching for people tweeting about their feet.

I look at his twitter, and all of his tweets involve him asking women for pictures of their feet and proclaiming how much he enjoys the female foot – apparently why he went into podiatry to begin with.

Someplace, somewhere, some guy is getting off on pictures of my feet.

Possibly as we speak.

And now, I’m going to church.
