I Want Candy

I am not a girl with a major sweet tooth.

In fact, the vast majority of the time I would take a hunk of cheese or something extra salty over dessert.

And I would be a happy girl.

But when I was in Australia years ago there was one candy I fell in love with: The Crunchie Bar.

These little pieces of yummy goodness are nothing more than chocolate covered honeycomb – but they make my insides melt with joy.

Unfortunately, they are insanely expensive to get to the states if you try to order them online, so I haven’t had them in years. I kept telling myself that if I got pregnant though, I would order a bunch and that would be my one go-to pregnancy junk food.

That was the plan until a little bird told me about World Market that is.

We don’t have one of these fabulous stores anywhere in Alaska, but when I told B-Face that I wanted to go to stock up on Crunchie Bars while I was in town, she hopped all over that claiming she needed to get some items for the yacht she is working on right now too.

So this morning around 11 she picked me up and we went on our way.

Let me just tell you that I didn’t think it was possible to be so excited to see someone. I have known this girl for so long, but it feels like forever since I have actually laid eyes on her. Being able to chat and catch up face to face as though no time had passed was amazing.

Seeing my old friend was exactly what I needed.

What I probably didn’t need was all these Crunchie Bars.

At $9 a bag I’m pretty sure I never should have bought 5 bags, but I just kept reasoning that they would last me forever and that it was so much cheaper than ordering them from Australia.

I told myself they would be my guilty indulgence for every once in a while.

I’ve already had 3.

So here I am – back in my hotel comfy and cozy in bed noshing on Crunchie Bars while growing some eggs and thinking that this is the best way ever to heal a broken heart.

Except that it’s still broken.

But I’m working on that….
